South East Asia Property Awards

China and Singapore top MIPIM shortlist

China and Singapore dominate the list of nominees for the fourth annual MIPIM Asia Awards, which honour real estate projects in the Asia Pacific region. 17 of the 24 total nominees went to Singaporean or Chinese projects.

The international jury – chaired by Dr. Robert Lie, managing director of Real Estate Investment & Development at Redevco Asia Limited – met September 17 to examine the 79 projects from 10 countries that entered this year’s awards and narrowed the field down to 24 nominees in 8 categories. Entries this year came from Australia, China, India, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Vietnam. Winners will be chosen by online voting from registered MIPIM Asia delegates which will close November 1.

Highlights of the nominees include the Mandarin Oriental Macau and the Shanghai Peninsula in the Hotels and Tourism Category and 72 Sentosa Cove and The Orchard Residences, which are competing in the Residential Developments Category. For a complete list of nominees, see below.

“It is fantastic to see so many high quality projects from countries across Asia in this year’s MIPIM Asia Awards competition. This is a clear reflection of the continued growth and development of this dynamic region. We are very pleased that like last year we have received a large number of interesting projects from China and we will therefore continue with the special category ‘Best Chinese Projects,” said Lie.

The fifth edition of the MIPIM Asia property show will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from November 10 to 12. The MIPIM Asia Awards Ceremony will take place on the opening day of MIPIM Asia, on Wednesday, November 10, at 5.30 pm.
