Last call for entries to MIPIM Asia Awards 2010

MIPIM Asia, the world’s property market in Asia Pacific, has issued a last call for entries to the prestigious MIPIM Asia Awards 2010, the deadline for submission being August 6.

The MIPIM Asia Awards, first launched in 2007 and now in their fourth edition, pay tribute to outstanding projects in the Asia Pacific region for their environmental, architectural and technical features. Projects compete in eight different categories, namely: business centres, shopping centres, mixed-use buildings, residential developments, hotels and tourism resorts, green buildings, best Chinese projects and Futura projects.

Over the past three years, the MIPIM Asia Awards have paid recognition to 24 extraordinary projects.

Speaking on their experience as winners of two MIPIM Asia Awards in 2008 for the Singaporean project The Sail @ Marina Bay, Graeme Torre, Managing Director of AIG, said: “In a time of global economic uncertainty, it is important to be able to differentiate the quality, vision, and forward-thinking nature of one’s work. In 2009, the Shanghai World Financial Center received unprecedented recognition with three MIPIM Asia Awards, both in the categories Mixed-use Buildings and Best Chinese Project, and also the Participants Choice Award. As Paul Katz, President of Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates PC who was the design architect for the project, stated: “Winning awards always helps our business development and public relations efforts, but MIPIM Asia Awards are of special significance because the MIPIM Asia audience represents past, present and future clients across a wide range of regions and markets – giving us the greatest return on our investment. 2009 was particularly successful, as we were honored to receive three awards, resulting in even further recognition among our target audience.”

In September 2010, the international MIPIM Asia Awards Jury, comprised of top real estate professionals, will gather to select the three finalists in each category. Given the quality of the projects already submitted to this date, the deliberation of the Jury promises to be quite a highlight. The Jury is headed by Dr. Robert Lie, Redevco Asia Limited, Real Estate Investment and Development Managing Director, Hong Kong.

The MIPIM Asia Awards Ceremony during which the winners are officially announced and rewarded will take place in Hong Kong on November 10, on the opening day of MIPIM Asia 2010.
