Life on the beach in downtown Kuala Lumpur

Sunbathing on the beach at your condominium complex in the heart of downtown Kuala Lumpur may seem like an impossible dream, but for buyers at one recently launched development is very much a reality.

Located in the Vox Tower, The Versilica Sky Beach is 37-storeys above the ground and will be the first and only sky lounge in Mont Kiara, and possibly in Malaysia, to adopt a beach concept.

The Versilica Sky Beach is a resort getaway for its residents and a place for beach activities, sunbathing or swimming out into the clear blue sky – with the magnificent view of the Kuala Lumpur skyline as the backdrop. The Versilica Sky Beach also comprises the sky pool, quench corner, chill zones, recreational rooms, jet pool, sun garden and grill terrace.

Previewed in early June 2010, Vox Tower offers a total of 250 fully-furnished suites with built-up areas ranging from 462 sq ft (one-bedroom suite), 926 sq ft (two-bedroom suite) to 1,395 sq ft (three-bedroom suite).

And according to a spokesperson for developers Bukit Kiara Properties, the concept has been extremely popular with more than 75 per cent of the units being sold inside two months.

“Most of the buyers appear to be Malaysians in the 30-45 age group. So far we’ve not marketed our project overseas. We’re still very much working on our existing database and referrals from customers. On and off we do receive inquiries from foreigners.”

The name ‘Versilica’ is derived from a combination of ‘Verve’, and ‘silica’ – an element found in sand and quartz. Its concept: to sift through the ordinary, and find that which is truly unique and yours alone – to ‘discover your one in a million’ gem.

There are four interior designs theme: City Flux and Avant Storm (both 462 sq ft); and Duo Centrix and Metro Lux (both 926 sq ft). Prices range from RM950 (US$295) per sq ft to RM1,500 (US$465) per sq ft.
